Quote JEAN CAPDOUZE="JEAN CAPDOUZE"Catalans now on six (6) competition points, tied in that regard with four other teams, but in eighth spot on for and against (the 46-0 loss to Salford cost them table ranking), ahead of ninth placed London.
It was a very brave fightback by courageous Catalans, playing away in a hostile crowd environment, with two star forwards taken off in the first half, and playing the whole game with no experience in the hooking position (both choice hookers Michael McIlorum and Alrix da Costa are injured).
We all pray that Gregory Bird and Samuel Moa will be back fit soon, along with perhaps Alrix da Costa (Michael McIlorum will be out for weeks more), and then hopefully we can see the Catalans start to make their way up the ladder into the top five.'"
Oh, hello Jean. Finally appeared after last weeks shallacking then?
We also were without our first choice hookers and several forwards, so please don't use that as evidence of courage. It was a close fought game with Catalans once again hoodwinking the ref with the offside rule (throwing ball at a retiring player) and several non-injuries to slow the game down (of course, there were several real ones as well). As for hostile environments, its nice to see Catalans had zero fans to support them through it.
Catalans just shaded it today, but with the team we had out, I wouldn't get too excited.
