If the seller wants to come to an agreement with Carter then fair enough but if someone else wants to bid on the shirt for perhaps there own collection then it's fair game...

I think the point is not to have two people bidding with the club as beneficiary.

I get the point but I don't think its fair. The shirts owners who I assume inherited them may have no interest in the club otherwise they would have given them to the club and thus are entitled to the highest return, as we all are. I get it but cartels are always unjust.

That isn't what I meant though.
If your reason for buying it is to keep it in the club then it is sensible to only bid once.
If someone wants it for themselves then it's an auction.

If people are bidding to give the shirt to the club, I don't have a problem in not bidding against each other, ateotd it's only a few fans on here we're talking about anyway. If someone wants it for their own collection then they're obviously gonna bid no matter.

That's my point.
