The Under 18's march on following an 16-10 win over Milford Marlins in the late game at cougar park.
Keighley were off to a flyer when Martyn Broadley scored from the 1st set. Milford, however looked dangerous and scored twice late in the 1st half, but Jordan Aitchison got Keighley to 8-10 with the last action of the half.
Josh Ives then edged Keighley ahead with a try to the left of the posts, Ben Stead added the extras. Both teams then had what looked like perfect tries wrongly ruled out.
Then with less than 15mins to go, Stead kicked a penalty, with Milford down to 11 men. Despite that, the visitors pressured Keighley hard, but couldnt break through.
The win put Keighley top of the East League.
Keighleys next game is at home v Gateshead. The game will be played at Utley. KO TBC.
The video shows a couple of things which the ref I think got right.
In fairnes Matt Ross did not have control of the ball when he put it down under the sticks and there player did put a foot in touch prior to having his try disallowed. The ref was right.
