if anyone knows the fool who stole the 12 year old lads cowbell in the kings head and bragged about it on social media tell him hes a piece of scum and robbing 12 year olds is not what we expect of rugby league fans, ridiculous that so many are praising him too, sour end to a good day at what was our favourite away trip :evil: :evil:

Disappointing if true but it’s difficult to hide something like that once you’ve shared it on social media. Pretty sure he’ll get hounded out.

I took my 8 year old to his first game today, specifically chose Hudds as it’s the friendliest atmosphere of all the games and the nicest fans. So I hope you don’t think we are all like the one idiot attending today.

I’m not condoning theft but the cowbells did need stopping. The DJ asked on several occasions for them to stop.

I couldn’t put up with that sound every week.

Wire playing away at Wigan...back in the day when Wigan fans were just 'Wergun Wergun' happy clappers and the team annular champions of something.
We knew we were going to be beaten, but chanted 'barmy army' along with the drummer for 80 min, and 15 min after the game had finished.
When the DJ tried to drown us out...we responded and chanted louder and longer.

In many ways the cowbeller gets my support in a very similar scenario.

Surely he wasn’t serious? Not just playing up the social media ‘banter’ from in the week?

It’s annoying, but it’s harmless. If the DJ is making those kind of announcements in a serious tone on behalf of the club we just look like jobsworths. We encouraged it all week.

The cowbell is god awful and has been an embarrassment for many years. Its condemned by fans, players and pundits alike. Someone had to do something and make a stand.

Agreed, but nicking it off a kid (if OP is telling the truth) and making our supporters look like scrotes isn’t the solution.

It was the DJ at The Kings Head after they were ruining every song he was playing for about 2 hours. He stopped completely a few times.

I did see one guy pretend to throw it but he gave it back.

The last I saw was a cowbell with a Huddersfield fan in his 40’s - 50’s, and another with a female Huddersfield fan. Those might have been theirs though.

Making a stand? It's hardly a major issue is it? We do very well as a sport at getting our knickers in a twist over things that don't really mean that much...

[size=150it was a 12 year old kid who was playing it and a wire fan stole it off him [/sizeregardless of whether you like the cowbells or not it was a 12 year lad enjoying himself and having some fun does that deserve getting bullied and robbed? there was also a wire fan who smacked a giants fan with a baby strapped to him, we lost a lot of the respect we've built up with the wire lot over the years yesterday which is a shame cos theres been lots of mutual respect between the fans for years

The same dj also told the cowbells to come and join in at 1st too i dont like the sound of the drum but i didnt steal it off the guy playing it
