| With our halves needing a real boost I'd be hoping the club have took note that Hastings isn't nailed down. I can't see the NRL touching him for another season, I'd throw a blank cheque book at him. Cut our losses with Kev Brown (he was a last minute desperation signing and nothing more) and part ways.
Keep Patton as our off the bench 9, he's done well there so far this season.
a spine of Ratch, Austin, Hastings & Clark would look very tasty indeed.

| He played excellent last night. Well worth a look at. I can't see Salford keeping hold of him. I can see him going to Leeds.

| Aussie who managed to alienate his team mates at two clubs while not even being a first team regular, gets shunned by the NRL and comes here and Warrington should "throw a blank cheque book at him". What could possibly go wrong?
I wonder how he would fit in with our "new culture" that Fitzpatrick, Price and Kyle Leuluai were supposed to be bringing in to the dressing room.
If we're going down the route of redemption how about bring back Sandow - would probably be cheaper than Hastings, and a more reliable character.

come over from Australia, played from getting straight off the plane and made an impact. He's embraced to local community and given a team he's probably never heard of 100%. he's on the field pulling the team round the park and improving players around him. kept his nose clean in the 7 weeks hes been around too. Takes the line on, kicking game, good hands...
So in recap we shouldn't be interested in... a player whos saved Salford from relegation, been committed, fitted into the culture, embraced the local community and a genuine half back. Because Daly Cherry-Evans is a total Pr***?

| It wasn't just Daly Cherry-Evans, he was moved on from two clubs in the NRL because he was so disruptive. Anybody can behave and switch on for 7 weeks...we had good half seasons out of Henare, Appo and Sandow.
Anyway as he has embraced Salford and their culture this is an irrelevant debate as he will be loyal to Salford rather than walking out on them after a couple of months.
I am open minded to difficult characters though so if a blank cheque book is available why not throw it at Cherry-Evans?

| Maybe they don't like him because he's arrogant in his own ability? if he knows he's better than someone he'll speak up. I don't mind that, that's how you know you've got a good Halfback. that's why Alex Murphy knows he was one of the best, because no one can stand him

| Both Wigan and Hudds sniffing round Hastings. If he doesn't stick with Salford through loyalty, fans showing him how much he has done for club already etc i suspect he will go where he can get most money.

| He is a very decent player and has talked a good game when on TV.
Lots of "very lively characters" have settled down enough to become superb players.
But without knowing full details of what he's done & current contracts & available budgets it's difficult to judge.
