Surely if it's against the rules then the clup can fine him whatever they want. lets face it- it's not the ammount of money that will actually help the club out with money so I guess they chose such a large fine as they thought a smaller one wouldn't put him of doing it again.
Having said that if it's against club rules then why was there a fridge full of beer on the bus!?
dont think him worth that! within the cap, average salary across 25 players would be £64k - 25 players on 1600 a week would be £2.08m (assuming thats his salary, and not take home pay). i would have thought him, 15th - 20th on their list and not one of the top (or even above average) earners...
