Excellent rugby player, terrible commentator.

One of the best players I've seen. Don't mind him as a commentator.

Great player, sorry can`t stand his commentary, anyone would think he had never seen a game before with some of the stuff he comes out with. He just gets it wrong all the time.

A great talent, which he used sparingly. Awful, awful commentator.

You do have to wonder how much RL he actually watches outside of the few cup games he commentates on in a year. For me personally I think pundits and commentators on tv (in any sport) should have played/coached much more recently as all sports evolve.

I said exactly the same about him on here after a CC game last season. Obviously a great player for both codes but over the years he seems to have let his RL knowledge slip a fair bit and as you say, I bet he doesn't watch too many games except for the ones he commentates on.

He'd be great at full back in this era.

And I'm ok with his commentary.

Always had time for him, great amassader for both codes, and considers himself a Rugby player not league or union, he always say his greatest moment was the Wembley try for GB its an iconic moment.
Remember an interview with him about Roy Powell just after he died, amazing words.
