Thought they took a while to get into the finer skills but the physicality was there right from that start, no holds barred as you would expect from 2 such proud teams.
I have to say I was very disappointed with the finish though. Think the opportunity was there to have a go at getting the result on the last set rather than taking the easy option.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Thought it was the right decision at the time until I found out that there was no golden point
Boy if super league was played with that intensity week in week out ,we wouldn’t need Harry and Elstone promoting the game I’m sure , the grounds would be packed and tv company’s would be falling over themselves to sign us up .Full blooded encounter and no quarter asked or given ,what a spectacle for RL .

Well, you say that Kettykat..... Apart from the four quarters the game was broken up into......... .....Apparently. this was done - even though it was raining - to it being 40c. Bl*ody soft those Aussies/Maoris.......

Tell you what though Ketty, I had to laugh when at the start after the traditional ceremony dance and nose to nose touch and embraces they wanted to knock seven bells out of each other once the whistle went
I absolutely loath the golden point. I think more than any other sport a draw shows what a genuinely equal contest has just taken place. So if ever both teams deserved some reward then a RL draw is it.
But no so desperate are we for a gimmick we give up one of the finest parts of our game, namely it’s tendency to always produce a winner! Even more insulting we then see a false result usually created from an unholy scramble to score a drop goal, which imo is an auxiliary element of the game. I don’t mind it being a match winner in the last minute of normal time but to see it used as a further time decider, no.
There is no jeopardy despite the efforts of Sky to suggest there is. Whoever gets within range first probably wins and against a tired defence that’s often whoever receives the kick off.
Maybe it’s just me and I assume you but I agree, what the hells wrong with a draw, it seems fair reward to all imho.
