Disappointing comments from Radford after the game. I thought he’d matured as a coach and grown out of the pettiness. If Hull want to be genuine contenders at the top they have to not worry about a loss to Hull KR.

Cas couldn’t get over their rivalry with Leeds and it’s held them back. When Leeds “grew up” and stopped worrying Bradford they thrived.

Would say it’s a bit different to those other scenarios you mentioned as Leeds/Bradford and Leeds/Cas were facing each other in finals. Also Hull have been contenders recently with the cup wins and narrowly losing at Headingley in 2017 in the playoffs.

Basically said it was Hull KR’s Cup Final, Grand Final and World Club Challenge all rolled in to one. Along with a few other whinges.

As I said, disappointing from him as I thought he’d matured past those kind of cheap shots.

In which case the scenario is worse as there’s no real challenge between the 2 clubs in any practical sense. It’s all in their heads and they need to get over it.
I can understand Hull KR using it as a way of providing impetus to their season as they’re playing a rival who is generally ahead of them toward the top of the table.
But Hull FC should not be concerning themselves with a rivalry with at best a mid table team. Not if they want to really challenge at the top.

The Hull KR / Hull FC Derby will never lose its passion. The teams position in the league table counts for nothing come Derby day .

Speccies will play it down if they lose , but deep down you want to win the Derby no matter what anyone says .

The Hull derby is without doubt the best in the comp . Your either Red and White or Black and White theres no inbetween .

He actually said that BEFORE the match. He is, of course, just a wind up merchant failing to play psychological games.

Hull may have wanted the 2 points but we needed them. That coukd be the difference and also why the threat of relegation plays its part in our league. And yes, we're far from clear yet.

I think radford was meaning in relation to their league position and potential relegation rather than anything derogatory. He lives in east hull and will get plenty of stick for the next couple of weeks

Nice to see some Hull Kingston Rovers players with their Babies wearing the Red & White after the victory before been presented with the Sir Clive Sullivan Trophy.
