They did make mistakes, that doesn't mean it's acceptable, and it wasn't just the French players, in fact it mostly wasn't French players, so singling them out and neglecting to blame others is nonsense. If someone like Escare had made the errors that Inu and Richards did leading directly to tries you would be calling for him to be dropped immediately and never reinstated.

Its a bit of a pointless game to judge Richards on with it being his emotional return to Wigan.

The issue with Escare is not just occasional silly errors like Inu and Richards made but a prolonged complete failure to defend properly despite being given two years to sort it out. No team challenging for trophies can afford that kind of liability.

I will say on Richards that he looked past it, I'll give him a few more weeks but his body looks gone.

Possibly, but Laurent seems to like his wingers being big and powerful these days.

According to our French equivalent Escare is 1m 72 centimetres and 73 kilos. which will always make it difficult for him. Having given him stick let me say that I admire him for playing for the reserves on sunday

I agree, and actually think that we have let him down by using him in the wrong role. Is there no way that we can mould him into a Rob Burrow type player - his size hasn't restricted him as much as you'd expect over the years - and in an attacking sense it can be lethal.

So you want to solve his defensive problems by making him defend in the line???
