GH has confirmed Catalan are looking at Aiton. Aiton won't confirm his intentions. GH said he's contracted for next season but both club and player have an opt out clause.

Catalan are also looking at Lunt. I would guess if Aiton goes we would go for Lunt?

I'd say that it looks to me that he will be going to Catalan. That would confirm to me why we have been looking at Danny houghton and have gone back in the past few weeks and increased our offer. I'll be disappointed if we lose him as he has been a quality addition this season.

Apparently Lunt has agreed a deal with HullKR already.

For those wetting their pants about Widdop earlier in the thread, today was another fairly anonymous Widdop performance.... The least effective ball player on the pitch - though showed some good defence.

Yet to see him perform well consistently or against the better teams.

I think Widdop would do well in SL, but I've never been that impressed with him on a regular basis, especially for England. He's certainly, not as good as any version of Danny McGuire IMO.

Anybody that says Widdop wouldn't improve us next year is off their head. Sutcliffe is never a half back.

Sutcliffe, may have made a quality 13 10 years ago, but the game has moved on, he's a big 6, but does he have the frame to move into the pack every week? I doubt it, and with Cam Smith a couple of years away at the most I think we'll have better options at 13, so helping Sutcliffe develop into a quality stand off is probably the way to go IMO.

I'm not saying Widdop wouldn't improve us - clearly he would be a decent signing; I'm just saying he ain't the superstar some people make out - infact far from it.

He's good when things are going well for the team, but he's not the sort of player to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and drag his team into the contest. Unfortunately, like many recent English playmakers, he's got a bit of the 'Leons' when the tough games come along.

Heard that only Baldwinson & Minchella will be returning from the loanees.

Briscoe, Duckworth, Tonks, Foster, Clarkson all going elsewhere, with Clarkson going to Hull KR.

From what I saw of the game it was pretty much one way traffic from the Storm. Judging half backs behind a beaten pack against arguably the most agressive pack in the comp says little about Widdop or Benji's ability/form. What I saw of the Saints attack was Benji running 30 meters sideways quite a bit, also running backwards at times.

If your not a Widdop fan this one would be an ideal game to highlight when cherry picking for an argument.
