The club is the place to complain about policy.

Still looks like the flask is a bit contentious. I dont see nothing wrong with the old Thermos, it maybe a trow back to winter rugby but still plays an important part in the above mentioned match day routine.

I agree. But I think the club need to make the statement to clarify.
The security company won't be able to ake policy.

Is the issue of taking in opened drinks not related to this rule about not bringing in alcohol from outside? Does anyone know the details of this law/rule? Is it to do with the licensing rules for the stadium?. Seems a bit ott to me, but that's the modern way. Clear rules are in; common sense and professional judgement are out.

Saw quite a few with flasks openly displayed on terracing and it was ignored by stewards.

Couple of things, I asked the name of the security company as I wanted to know if they were an SIA/ACS approved contractor, which they are. Which raises some issues.
With regards alcohol, you can only drink alcohol purchased at "on licence" premises if it is purchased from that licensed premises. Alcohol purchased from an "off license" premises, can only be consumed "off license". If you're one of those people who sneaks a small bottle of spirits in to a night club you are breaking the licensing laws along with doing the proprietor out of income.

Christ - all I want is to bring my own brew; it's not as if the Thermos flask is a modern innovation that presents a challenge to the legislators.

It's not a deal-breaker for me, but I'll be disgruntled if I can't have a cup of tea at half time; and no, its not robbing the club of income, because I'll go without before I buy a cup of witches wee from a van.

They have been asked the question a few times now without reply. Surely it is in everybodies interest, including their own, to just put an addendum to the previous to clear up any doubt.

Surely the thermos flask should be exempt.

These venerable devices are by definition and the embodiment of responsibility. I have never seen a flask user who is anything other than sobriety and courtesy on legs! It is an essential item of a truly civilised man.

What's stranger still is that we are apparently happy to see shaven apes wandering around BV plastic pint pots in hand in a drunken, vulgar and occasionally violent state without so much as a batted eye lid from a steward. Yet a child with a can of panda pop or a pensioner with home made bovril sends them into a manic jobsworth frenzy.

Let's be honest CLUB this isn't about safety - it's about money. So give the monkey's their beer if you must and leave Bren and co to enjoy there luke warm beverage as has been the case for generations since RL began. :NAUGHTY:

The flask is really a wolf in sheep's clothing. The double whammy of an open vessel potentially containing illicit moonshine and the potential to turn into a weapon or missile at a moment's notice. That's without considering the risk to turnhealth and safety of a hot liquid spill. We've got more chance of winning the GF than getting a flask of tea into BV.
