In the whole new Super Dooper era, the season regular is just a qualifying event for the play offs and means nothing.
Trinity proved this, albeit at the wrong end of the table during the "every minute matters" era, a time when only the last 5 minutes of the MPG were actually important.
FWIW, dont remember the Dewsbury beating Leeds from 8th, not sure that I was old enough.

No one cares about the hub cap. It’s not a real trophy.

The treble is CC, grand final and WCC. Something St Helens have already managed

the teams and fans care about the hubcap,stains have not done the domestic treble as i am sure if the had they would be shouting it from the roof tops.
the grand final was last year

Yes, they do now. When saints won it 4 years on the trot the teams and fans called it the "mickey mouse trophy" and said it wasn't worth anything hence called the hub cap.

When other clubs like Warrington, Huddersfield, Castleford and Catalan won it then it became the best thing since sliced bread.

LLS doesn't mean much Who gets remembered as champions. It should always be who finishes top at the end of the season and I think most fans recognise that.

People also need to recognise that if the format was first past the post for the title, we wouldn't have seen the likes of Huddersfield, Catalans etc finishing top. The likes of Bradford, Leeds, Wigan and Saints never panicked about league position, the focus was always about form and conditioning for the play offs.
