As someone who has a career in and around Asset Management… in private and state owned companies…I do rather disagree with your assessment, with the benefit of some familiarity and volition.

I don’t get to see the accounts … so my comment is a little blind and general…

However… there are very few businesses that are cash rich… once taxes, wages, overheads, loan interest has been considered, not making a loss is a major goal… indeed the liquidity of many companies is measured by their asset value.

If “skint” means we are not raising enough revenues to invest in the business , and become market leaders… then I refer back to my previous diatribes.
