Super League Show : Mon Sep 05, 2022 6:51 pm
As we are in Super League next year IMHO we need to raise the profile of Wakefield Trinity.
I don’t know how many times a Wakefield player has been on with our Tanya this season. I might be paranoid but who ever played Wakefield that round seems to appear and give their version. People could forget about Trin if teams like Huddersfield appear far too often.

And our game is usually last, or next to last to be featured whoever the opposition is, usually with a non-descript commentator. A poor product from the Beeb, I'm afraid.

It's a great product. We are just not the most appealing team.

Exactly! So it's reflective of how respective teams have performed to a point, as with Sky & C4 coverage etc. Trin fans generally are full of paranoia, i bet most of the people on here have followed us for at least 30 years, with some lucky enough to have witnessed the glory days of the '60's, and i'm sure we are all just desperate for any kind of success. The lack of it, and just the mostly struggling seasons does have it's effect on fans, and their outlook etc. We are now entering possibly a critical phase of the game's history potentially, what with how the game will look with the people on board now to try and raise the profile, and restructure the whole set-up. As a club, we can't just keep saying it's down to lack of funds! MC says we don't have a money tree, Hull & Warrington have a forest full of them, apart from sporadic cup wins, what good has it done them?! For neither of them to have lifted the Super League trophy at Old Trafford since '98 is pathetic really, and just shows it's not as simple as just throwing money at something and hoping it all just sticks. I just hope that with the ground re-developments, the young players that hopefully, WE will get the benefit of in the next few years, and some shrewd signings like in 2017&'18, maybe we can finally at least appear in a final, 'cause i've been watching regularly since the mid 80's as a kid, and a Yorkshire cup & the First division G/F in '98 is slim pickings indeed......

Re: Super League Show : Tue Sep 06, 2022 12:29 pm
One things for certain. We need to shake this paupers tag that we have branded onto us.

The new stadium will go some way to achieving this but I think we need to probably tailor our PR a bit away from the fact we are stringent and strict with our budget. While it’s great in management terms it’s not really what the fans or prospective recruitment targets want to hear.

The new stand and developments need to bring a new era with a more positive focus and vibe.

Deffo agree Trojan.
It does the club no favours and can be demoralising.
Its bloody annoying when supporters start to get involved in affordability without knowing the facts or how much is available, it's become like a badge of honour.

I certainly think the club is well run but I think we advertise the fact we have to stick to a budget and as you say west it with a badge of honour that we are surpassing expectations on a shoestring.

I completely understand that the club is well run and has to run to a budget but that’s not going to help the club grow or interest new supporters, investors and players. In a way I think we need to find a better way to market the club and learn to sell ourselves more.

Easier said than done absolutely but we must to be seen to be striving for more outside the club even if we are managing strict budgets within its doors. We have to start generating the belief that the club will grow and once again trinity will become a challenger in superleague in the near future. It’s a well run club thanks to MC and co but it needs direction.
