I was 16 at the time and at Wembley for the first time amid the horrendous thunderstorms.
Always laugh at the normally immaculate Coldstream Guards breaking their step as their boots disappeared in huge pools of water.
Wakefield fans have long thought the penalty try was very severe especially as 4 men were in contention for the ball and 3 of them were Trinity including Ian Brooke who ran the ball back once it went into the dead ball area. Have watched the replay on Sunday it still seems harsh.
However we cannot turn back time and I enjoyed the friendship of players in the documentary filmed at Sharlston ARLFC.
One of the more vociferous players regarding the penalty try was David Jeanes a Wakefield player at the time of the final who later joined Leeds.
A great watch and such a sadness to realise the impact it had on Don Fox.
Mental health problems are finally becoming more prominent in their recognition and as Neil Fox said he probably would have dealt with the miss better than Don who continued to remain a hero with the Red White and Blue.
RIP Don Fox.....Never Forgotten.
