Has ended his career according to our local paper. Seriously sad news if it turns out to be true.

It is indeed sad but not entirely unsurprising given his age and the seriousness of the injury. The important thing is that he can get up and about and still be able to do everything he wants to do in retirement.

They are saying an artificial disc in his neck failed and pinched his spinal cord, so the operation was to deal with that. I think it's probably one of those things where even if he makes a full recovery (which fingers crossed he will) its just not worth risking it by playing again.

As a Trinity fan at the game last Sunday, this is really sad news to everyone in the game. I’m sure everyone within the game and beyond wish him well, and come together to help, as the game community came together for Robbie B.

Really bad news for the player and for KR and it seems worse that this was in a friendly fixture.
Although he may not be able to play RL again in future, really hope that he gets a decent recovery and can do plenty of other stuff.
