Strangely enough his poor performances for GB is probably a plus for the club. He's probably had a lot of NRL eyes on him and hopefully the interest will be have cooled a little.

I can't wait to see him and GB in a Wigan poop next season. Fingers crossed we see Lam next to him too.

Sure Hastings didn't set the world alight for GB, but as said upthread, most things went through Widdop, so that he could hoof it aimlessly to RTS, and he did manage to produce one or two brighter moments, like the score that Austin butchered. I'm very much looking forward to seeing him in a Wigan shirt.

Hastings has been great in SL so far, hopefully he can replicate his form for Wigan. But I don't think the Enforcer's post is unreasonable - there's always the risk it won't work out as well for him at a new club, particularly when there are higher expectations. A lot will depend on his attitude, how he relates to his teammates (both personally and on the field) and if the coach plays to his strengths. He was poor for GB and I think that sometimes he plays it a little too safe (overly reliant on the inside ball, not enough running of the ball himself and his kicking game lacked variety to say the least).

I'm still holding out hope that we could get Lauchlan Lam in to partner him - he had some great games in the Canterbury Cup last year and as a more explosive line breaker he could be a great foil for Hastings. They've also played together before which helps. French - Lam - Hastings would be very exciting.

Thank you. Somebody that can see a bigger picture and thinks deeply rather than just happy claps everything Wigan related.

You know who would be the perfect player to pair him with? Sam Tomkins. If only we could tempt him back to play 7 for his remaining years.

Im more conservative in my expectation. I think GB will be a shadow of what people are expecting but an improvement on what we have and i think Hastings will do ok but wont live up to his Salford performances as i think the pressure to deliver something out of the box each week will be a whole different ball game to the low expectations of Salford.

Hastings was fantastic at Salford...at times almost unplayable. He looks good it a team that goes forward off great back sweeping movement..That would suit Wigan.
However he looks pants in GB without quality backs...I don't blame Hasting for that though as Widdop looked no better.

It's more down to playing behind a beaten pack every game

Well again i saw nothing to make me think Hastings is going to be red hot at Wigan. His kicking game was terrible and he seems to have one trick up his sleeve which is the ball back on the short side to the centre.

I’m reserving judgement until I see him away from Widdop, who has been one of the worst half backs I’ve ever seen play for us during this series.
