I can make the game as I am now retired . 3 of the guy's who travel down to all the home games can't make it due to work commitments not being able to take 2 days holiday at such short notice .

It’s a killer isn’t it really. It’s not that it just takes numbers off that particular gate but it just puts people in two minds for any game and gives people excuses not to (in addition to those that just can’t go).

If this game had been Friday I reckon we’d have seen a crowd of about 14,000, with maybe 2,500-3,000 from Cas. Now we’re looking at probably just above 10,500-11,000 for my money with probably half that following from Cas.

The RFL sit and wonder why crowds are down, and going down year on year. This is why. Fans being treated with utter contempt by the authorities. A massive Friday night game v Cas is a marketeers dream. A Thursday night is a much harder sell as it rules so many people out.

Fans have no idea whether the next game will be changed and that uncertainty puts them off buying a ticket. How is this sustainable? I can’t stand Thursday night games as it is, they’re nearly always flat, low crowds and low enthusiasm. I don’t see the bloody point.

Get the games back to Friday/Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. I couldn’t give two hoots if we’re up against football. RL is our love and our game. Sky are taking that away from the hardcore fans in aid of an extra few viewers on a Thursday.

I’d like to say I have confidence the RFL would give Sky an ultimatum come the end of this broadcasting deal but we all know they’ll roll over and further kill the game.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Can't see us bringing even half that many. The likelihood is we will be playing either you or salford the following week, probably on Thursday too

As a result of Sky considering a game between two possible relegated teams to be more important on a Friday Night than a game between two clubs in the top five, the appalling decision to play at such short notice means that I will not be able to attend the game.

No wonder season tickets sales have gone down.

Spot on. The club have done a fantastic job of keeping them affordable and the RFL and Sky completely undo all that by treating fans like they do. I was planning on getting a season ticket next season for the first time in a long time, but I’m seriously having to judge it with how often fixtures are changed at short notice. It could make a financially worthwhile season ticket purchase into a white elephant season ticket.

With 4 clubs on 20 points at the bottom of the table, it would make sense for them to all play on the same day, otherwise, a team or more has an advantage of knowing what they need to do. Hence, Wigan and Cas are the fall guys with having to play on Thursday (otherwise 4 games would need to take place on this day that's very unhelpful to spectators). Wire had to play on the Thursday after Wembley, with Sky, you have to live with stuff like this.
