He’s had some good games for us this year and a couple of really well-taken interceptions. I dunno - if we had the rest of the side sorted you might want to strengthen his position, but he deserves more time to develop.

I wonder what we’ll do with Lunt and Donaldson.

I hope we give Donaldson another year He’s a really handy squad player with a great attitude IMO

Agree about Donaldson, depending on salary. He's in good condition and trains well, and I think we need some of that role modeling for the youth coming through. We do have a couple of senior players who could shed a few pounds...

Lunt has been pretty good I think - his distribution is good and he's pretty solid in D too. I was disappointed we let him go last time. Having said that if we could secure someone like Isaac Luke (I've mentioned elsewhere) then I would swap.

I have a feeling we might be treading water a little bit next year while we finish the "purge" and the talent in the academy develops. Give us 2-3 years and I'm feeling pretty cocky (assuming we stay up of course).

Im happy to see Ash get a new deal but like others 4yrs is too long imo.
I think it should be 2yrs with a 3rd option anything more than that should be for our elite prospects like Walker etc.
I still think the squad needs a sizable turn over both departures and incomings/promoted u19's and with the new Reserve league next year its going to be an interesting time.

Actually prefer him to Tom Briscoe.
2 years plus an option on a 3rd would have been better but then again he might still not be on that much for the first two years.

Donaldson tackles well but makes no yards whatsoever. Weve some good young forwards we need to bring through.

He doesn't make many meters, but he usually find his front and plays the ball quite quickly.

I'd say he may not have his stature, but his role is exactly the same as Ian Kirke.

kirke larrgely gave jp a ten min breather who is donaldson doing that for.... like donadson useful filler this yr but not long term
ash like cummins ok when in the clear no threat running it out

He normally comes on merrin. He's probably or most peacock-like player. He tackles well and is safe with the ball. A very kirkesque role

All depends on salary expectations really. Donaldson isn't good enough to command a top spot, but he is good enough to provide very good squad cover. Thing is I wouldn't want to see Trout or Walters blocked so if we do retain Donaldson, only 1 more year for me initially.
