Plus, is there another player who can say they've played for Saints, Wigan, Widnes and Warrington?
In the modern era i cant think of any that have done all 4. We have a number of players who've represented 3 of the 4 (from my memory): * Higham was Saints, Wigan, Wire (not Widnes). * Martin Gleeson was Wigan, Saints and Warrington (not Widnes). * Jon Clarke was Wigan, Wire and Widnes (not Saints). * Kevin Brown was Wigan, Widnes and Warrington (not Saints). * Bobbie Goulding was Wigan, Widnes and Saints (not Warrington). * Andy Platt was Wigan, Widnes and Saints (not Warrington). * Gary Connolly was Wigan, Widnes and Saints (not Warrington).

Matty might be the only one. When all is said and done he should be proud of his career. He's done himself proud. And even as a Whiston lad, I have a sneaky feeling his career highlights might be from his time at Wigan.
I know it's most likely to be temporary, but........................... Up to 3rd!!
Officially RLFAN's most Doe-eyed Happy Clapper.

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

Why? We've half backs all over the place. Thought French and Hastings were our 6 & 7 next season. Then we've Tommy, Sammut, Shorrocks & Smith. Do Wigan RL really need him or is there another reason we're after him?

I believe Sammut won't be here next season nor will Escare and Navarette

French is a full back Tommy is a hooker Sammut probably won’t be here next season Shorrocks isn’t good enough Smith probably isn’t ready to play a significant role next season
If you look at it that way there is definitely room for a half.

For me French will play in the halves before the season is out. Only reason he didn’t v HKR is that he’s not up to speed on our play just yet.
First I’ve heard about Sammut leaving. Right choice for me, said it all season long but he wasn’t the quality we needed to begin with.

A lot of people had reservations about Sammut but he’s surprised me when he’s had a chance and done pretty well. He’s clearly not in Lams long term plans though and he looks good enough to get a regular spot somewhere in superleague, so you’d think he will move on.
