Great news this. He’s gone about his business very effectively this season and has been very consistent. I’d hope to see French & Hastings at 6&7 next season and see Leuluai share the 9 role with Powell.
He’s invaluable in big games and he’s durable as well. He’s probably the ultimate example of a player who just wont be done any justice by looking at stats. There’s no stat for inspiring those around him and there’s no stat for how much energy them chopping tackles take out of the opposition.
Hastings Leaulai French Sammut Sharrocks Woods H Smith
Either French isn’t seen in the halves or one/two of these will be moved on surely?
Happy Tommy has signed though.

I thought Shorrocks was out of contract at the end of the year but there seems to be conflicting reports. I think he needs to move in for the good of his career. I’d also be surprised to see Sammut here in 2020. He’s clearly not overly fancied by Lam but I think he’s shown in his short spells for us that he could still play at this level or for a very good championship side.

Leuluai's 'bombs' aren't supposed to be difficult to catch - they just give the chase a bit of time to get forward and hopefully trap the winger as close to the corner as possible. We've been doing it for years - a bit dreary but its low risk and does tend to put us in a decent position to defend from.
