Of course nobody particularly wants to see our great club relegated, and in the last two and a half seasons or so we have watched some good rugby, but would relegation be all that bad? There are some good sides there. I also support Barnsley FC and last season in League One it was a much more enjoyable experience each week watching a winning side than the previous season when we were continually losing in the Championship. Similarly, I remember the season prior to Trin's promotion to Super League we played some very entertaining, winning Rugby.
Relegation would be catastrophic. We would not be able to run all the things we currently do, especially as I believe MC said he would not be involved outside of SL

We wouldn't necessarily be a winning side though. The current team would be absolutely decimated. I reckon at least 30% would be gone immediately, and another 30% would follow in the off season. All the hard work of the last 3-4 years would be reduced to nothing. It wouldn't be an easy ride in the Championship, I've no doubt about that.
Still, if you kept your Sky subscription, you could watch Bill Tupou charging down the wing for Saints, and David Fifita tearing it up at Warrington.

No its or buts the club will be liquidated if we get relegated. We have a ground unfit for purpose and a loan upon it which we can,t service. We are relying on the good intention of Mackie's to give us some money to pay off the loan and develop the ground. I cant believe there is anyone out there who is stupid enough to think he will do that. He will bide his time, watch us go bust when the loan is due to be paid. We go down the club folds
I suspect we’d find a level somewhere similar to Halifax
We wouldn’t trouble the promotion places but might intermittently reach the play offs every few seasons.
With no SL money I suspect we can’t afford the interest payments on the Council Stadium loan, let alone the refurbishment or rebuild costs.
We couldn’t hold onto home grown players like Tom Johnstone, Jordan Crowther, Max Jowitt, James Bachelor etc
Neither would we hold onto just about any of our current squad, players like Tupou, Ashurst, Fifita, Arona, Lyne, Hampshire would get snapped up by other SL teams or the promoted club, while some like Miller Tanginoa would probably go back down under
We might hold onto a few who are at the end of their careers such as Wood, Hirst, BJB, Arundel and maybe Kirmond would give us a season in the Championship
It’s very doubtful that we’d run a scholarship or an Academy and our Community team would be reduced to next to nothing.
Without a wealthy owner, I see no way of escaping a a decreasing level of funding until we reach a sustainable level somewhere mid table in the Championship.
I don’t see the same circumstances of 1998 ever occurring again and even if we found another Andy Kelly type figure to expertly recruit, coach & lead a team to the top, we wouldn’t be allowed back in SL while at Belle Vue.
Sorry it looks bleak but that’s probably the reality of it.

Spot in for mine. Let’s hope we don’t have to find out
