- We have 18 points and considering we are in a relegation battle that is a very good thing. Got to think that 22 points will see us safe, - John Holroyd has uncovered another gem in Jack Croft. - We have had the privilege of watching Ryan Hampshire play for Trinity over the last two seasons and what a joy it has been to see a real quality player blessed with pace, guile , a remarkable ability to read the game, a brilliant support player who is always in the right position when a break is made, a truly gifted player who can split a defense on his own the like of which I have not seen at Trinity since Nigel Wright and before that Dave Topliss and add to that a top goal kicker and a brilliant defender. Would love to see the club sign him on a long time contract, he is the type of player who you build a team around, we have been blessed to see him in the red white and blue for a couple of seasons. You sign him first then you sign the honest toilers to play around him. - The corporate match day experience in the Benedorm flats is brilliant and packed every match. Massive kudos to Verity. - The pitch looks better this season, must be the rain.

Did you by any chance ask John on his thoughts regarding Ryan Hampshire and the treatment he's received over his non signing?

You do tend to get a little bit obsessed with certain players Belly, and then fail to see any faults with them. First it was Annikin and now Rocky. Whilst I do think Hampshire has got something, I'm not sure he is the God you make him out to be. I've found him equally brilliant and frustrating to watch this season. One minute he'll do something spectacular and make that break from nothing, stepping through the line and bursting away, the next he'll be running laterally across the field and take out any options for the wide players by running them into a corner.
I would like to see him sign again, but I'd also be looking for some improvements in his decision making.

Remember we are Wakey and are a club who are lucky if we attract the very best in the game. When a good local lad comes along we should try our very best to keep him .
Would I take Hampshire over Miller, Yes I certainly would, every day of the week !!!!
Would I take Hamphshire over Brough, yes I certainly would because Brough has been great but his time is quickly running out.
Then there is the Rumour of Walker from London. Would I take Hampshire over him, yes I would. Walker is a good player but he doesn't have the versatility or the kicking game of Hampshire.
We have all heard many Hampshire rumours and its difficult to know the real facts. However I am certain if there was a real will to keep him, it could have been done and I am sure we would not need to break the bank in order to do so.
The contract was offered and a deadline set , it's wasn't signed, his choice to sign or not. It was the same last year, not signing and holding out we move on and plan for next season. I'd like to keep him but players come and go I thank him for his efforts for Trinity.

It seems pretty likely he's gone - to huddersfield - his replacement is walker from london 100% , tbh think rocky will bob about the league never quite making any position or club his own - dont' blame him for getting the best deal he can but tbh really dont see him in the same way as some on here - theres a reason he's been at multiple clubs and up until this season never really nailing a position down - at his age other clubs were forming a long queue and trying to sign wright topliss atkins ...... yet despite having numerous different coaches they all saw him the same way
