Its interesting re McLelland isn't it. He doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire but the things he does well are things some supposed future star halfbacks never develop - tackling, being organised etc.
Re Mustapha, there's no reason he can't make be a 13 in the modern game if he puts on 5-10 kilos and can translate his physical style to open age. You always need big forwards, but we all know big lads who play nowhere near their weight and smaller forwards (e.g. Bateman) who play well above theirs.
