I can’t believe Watkins has gone at this time without it having something to do with Leeds trying to bring another player in.
A 6 would make sense - a) because it’s obvious watching us play, but also because the player we signed for 6 (Tui) was tried, failed and is now preferred at fullback.
We are going to struggle to sign someone from another SL club mid season, although Hastings could make sense if Salford really are in a financial mess.
More likely someone from NRL, but that relies upon us shifting an overseas player first, which looks like Parcell, in a deal with would strengthen one of our direct relegation rivals. Also the main target had been called up to Origin, which has probably delayed things and added a nought or two to the price.
Not easy this survival malarkey.

These transfers are getting more convoluted than a game of thrones episode. Let's hope we are not left with a crock at the end of it.

Given recent results we need to do something fast. If we go bottom we're running out of games to turn things around if London and kr keep picking up points.

We almost need a better player at six than our two current marquees. We would still be a few players/couple of seasons off the top end of the table, but it would make a huge difference.
We’ll need to close the deal on Parcell to make it happen though. If we can’t do that, or some kind of swap with Salford, it’s very difficult. With change of coach at HKR they might have changed view on Parcell and/or the overseas player they were looking to offload to make room previously. They also might not be keen to let us strengthen the squad like this.

We should be safe for one more round because although I fully expect us to get beat at Saints, HKR and London play each other I think?
You’re right though. The home losses to London and Wigan were very painful. KS is clearly doing what he can to put is in a position to bring new blood in, but it’s a tough ask in the circumstances now.

The whole Parcell/Lunt idea seems to have come up since Smith moved to KR?

Peter Smith in YEP agreeing we need to bring someone in the half back position to give us best chance to stay up and we need to pay a fee out. He may also know something..

I guess unless we can offload an overseas player quickly, we’re talking about a Richardson or Trueman?
