Hats off to the organiser for Catalans vs Wigan in Barcelona. 31,000 attendance. I think that Barcelona may be seeing a magic weekend before too long.

Be a great weekend. Imagine all the RL folk taking in Gaudi and Sagrada Familia in the morning then off to the match for the afternoon.

Very good attendance

Would make a good magic I think that if it was done once every 2/3 years I think it could become a good fixture.

Im all for expansion I think that many fans enjoy the catalans away game and I think those travelling to Toronto will enjoy it also will Barcelona be one away trip too many tho?

I think the idea of Catalans hosting the winner of the GF at the Camp Nou every year would be a good one.

Benidorm reminds me of a high rise Birminham housing estate- a concrete jungle with some sand on the edge.

Barcelona is the second largest in Spain, and the capital of the autonomous community of Catalonia. When Les Catalans play there it gives those fiercely proud Catalans an identity. Whilst Calatan is spoken in the Costa Blanca the heart lands are Costa Dorada and Costs Brava, so I think Barcelona is the natural choice. It's a hugely popular tourist destination well served by international flights and a short drive from Perpignan. And if people don't fancy the cultural draws of Barcelona then the full english, union jack on menu brigade can always stay in Lloret.

The chances of the RFL actually seizing on the initiative and taking the MW to Catalonia (which is a great idea incidentally) are about the same as the UK's chances of winning next years Eurovision with Nigel Farage perorming a gangsta-rap version of Rule Britannia.

It would be expensive for the clubs though. Flying out and accomodating say 25 from each wouldnt come cheap.

The idea of a big RL event at the Nou Camp is a great one. The chances of your second paragraph happening, as you know, is close to zero. 99% would be bussed in from Lloret just before and just after the match.

However I have zero faith in the RFL grasping any such opportunity.
