It’ll be a tough game, hopefully our forwards can get on top of them but they have some speed out wide that will doubtless trouble us.

London are my 'second team' having now been 'darn sarf' for over 20 years. They have recruited well this year. They've got some quality half backs and hooker and some strong forwards and have run many super league teams close in their matches so far. Unfortunately I don't us a chance against them unless they put out a weakened team..

Indeed, London are a great model for us. They had 5 players in their team against Shudds who were grown at London and have around 10-12 which they produced in their squad. It would have been easy for them to restructure the whole squad this year but they still have a majority of players who played in the championship.

Reading other threads it seems almost everyone else can see where positive changes could be made:

QLT in the half J W H at 6 , S M to play 13 as it is a fact Fax are better with him on the field, spell him with S G,( both go lung busting 20 mins) Bring C B (if fit) at centre, salty back to F B.
I realise there are lesser change options this year, players need to be fitter to last the pace.
There will be opposition to this ,but if it is not tried it is not tested...
Rochdale this week, not a push over but winnable and by a goodly margin, if the scrums and play ball speed up, catch them offside and don t give needless penalties away.
(although some numpties cannot see that on the Fax playing squad)

Mr Bentlyman do you have the stats available as too penalties over previous years as against this ? or tell me where to look .

All I do is put the Match Report in The Programme I could look up a specific year if you wish I assume the Coaching Staff keep Stats somewhere

Without been too critical but all those players should look good against Championship 1 opposition. Sadly it is desperate times if we are thinking that QLT and JWH are the answer to our half back problems, a problem that should have been properly addressed in the off season. On a side note Butler will be out for a few weeks more yet and we are badly missing him.

@ Bentleyman, no worries, I just wondered how figures looked this year against previous, although Fax always seem to be on the wrong end of the ref's whistle.

@GFB your right,the problem should have been sorted long before now, but if speed around the ruck and scrum base area then something has to happen. You never know some scampering round from dummy half might catch a few unawares for a play or two As for Butler I 'thought' I had read he was back in training and almost there, unless he has had a breakdown.

Hopefully not a Tangata situation where the player was rushed back before ready to play. Although not great for the team this must increase our chances of getting him signed up beyond this season. Then just need to get Marshall sorted out so we can start planning for next season as you would think there must be wholesale changes if a new coach comes in.
