Wigan Warriors confirm that they are aware of an incident involving Craig Mullen on Sunday evening (24th March) which has seen the player charged for driving with excess alcohol. The player is co-operating with the Police investigation.
Wigan Warriors will allow the legal process to take its course and the Club will be issuing no further comment at this time.

Well just like the 80s and 90s its wigan keeping rugby league in the media but sadly these days its just bad news after bad news out of that club

When Hardaker was convicted of the same offence, Wigan took the moral high ground and blamed his previous clubs for not supporting him prior to his conviction.
According to the club website, Mullen is a “born and bred Wiganer”. Will they accept the same level of responsibility they were keen to lay at the door of other clubs? I doubt it.

Depends what they do from now on should they deem him to be a young man at risk of going off the rails, I'd have thought. Hopefully it's a one off.

With Wigan’s new penchant for having employees without contracts it should be an easy dismissal process.
