I can understand Lenagan’s frustration with the whole thing, but maybe that’s my bias.
The ambassadorial services payment was clearly an unwritten rule and not something that needed to be disclosed at the beginning of the year. The salary cap woman wasn’t aware it was even happening and we’ve been penalised for a lack of “handover”.
What is interesting though is that all of Lenagan’s statements said we’d been highly cooperative and accepted guilt. The paper says, at least initially, this wasn’t the case. Hmm, probably banking on the fact not many will read it.
