Looking at the bench and only having 2 props feared the worst. The 2 head knocks for Cats levelled it up . Not sure how many players missing today? Lots of effort but bit nieve against a team looking for a penalty at every PTB. Oakes looked solid compared to last season and Lawler could be a top player it seems? Garbutt immense again but ultimately lost a very winnable game at home again.
I thought Oakes and Vai Vai were poor at fault for a couple of tries
The use of Atkin was just bizarre. He only seemed to be on the pitch for about 15/20 minutes during the full game. For me he offers not only a lot more than Drinkwater and Maguire in the halves but also more than Addy at hooker. So why he was only given so little time is a mystery to me. Him and Addy should have been the other way round.

You can see that.We can see that we've had a season of T Lee playing 60 min and our best attacker 20 and today Addy was the main hooker. I like Addy but he's no hooker. He gave away a fair few daft penalties late in the count and Atkin brings so much more speed in every way. Lunt coming back is a huge plus I'd he can get match ready after such serious illness
Catalans now on six (6) competition points, tied in that regard with four other teams, but in eighth spot on for and against (the 46-0 loss to Salford cost them table ranking), ahead of ninth placed London.
It was a very brave fightback by courageous Catalans, playing away in a hostile crowd environment, with two star forwards taken off in the first half, and playing the whole game with no experience in the hooking position (both choice hookers Michael McIlorum and Alrix da Costa are injured).
We all pray that Gregory Bird and Samuel Moa will be back fit soon, along with perhaps Alrix da Costa (Michael McIlorum will be out for weeks more), and then hopefully we can see the Catalans start to make their way up the ladder into the top five.

i wouldnt get to carried away capduster , a half decent team would have taken us to the cleaners today, plenty out for us ,cant see you winning away again on that showing dosent say much for us does it

Vai Vai seems a shadow of last season's player? Today his errors were costly. Oakes I thought ran the ball out strong and generally played well. The last try I will have to see again but as soon as Smith lost the ball we as a team pulled up thinking job done but Child's waves it on and it's predictably heartbreak time again. Maybe Smith did lose it backwards but my impression was he stone cold dropped it losing control. Very harsh call that ultimately proved decisive.. Yes we should have been further clear but with no fit props at end and Linnett torn pec plus McGuire playing injured we possibly should have lost by more? God knows what the team will look like on Friday at Hudds?

Oh, hello Jean. Finally appeared after last weeks shallacking then?
We also were without our first choice hookers and several forwards, so please don't use that as evidence of courage. It was a close fought game with Catalans once again hoodwinking the ref with the offside rule (throwing ball at a retiring player) and several non-injuries to slow the game down (of course, there were several real ones as well). As for hostile environments, its nice to see Catalans had zero fans to support them through it.
Catalans just shaded it today, but with the team we had out, I wouldn't get too excited.

Addy passed the ball to Vaivai when he faced three players that hammered him and dislodged the ball.
Knock on in last two minutes was ripped out, we were in line with it.
Vaivai isn't blameless, but he should not be the scapegoat. Lawler is playing great at the moment but he also knocked on in the first half (after a bad Addy pass).

Aww bless Lord Lucan has decided to finally reappear after hiding low last weekend.
I wouldn't get too excited about Gregorius Bird and Samantha Moa Barry, after all, they both played in your hilarious home drubbing last week. Anyways, good to have you back old bean, was seriously worried you may have come to some harm after your lengthy absence ...

If we had the players I would drop addy for a couple a games but with our injuries we will not so it’s a case of suck it and see but we need to use Atkin more
