At least yesterday's 'showing' means there'll be no overconfidence going into next weeks important game. The coach and certain players need a long hard look in training this week.Having Chester back will help but can't see much else to bring in unless we go down the Cas route, which is ok this week as Hudd-shays on boycott...:)

Re: Fax v Batley. : Mon Feb 18, 2019 2:19 pm
Having considered yesterdays game i feel we used one of our nine lives.
At times we looked very dangerous with ball in hand and QLT gave us a vision and passing ability from the back that others have not for a few seasons now .
However some of the handling was atrocious, bad passes at ankles, silly offloads and poor catching. This is not down to coaching at this stage of a players career but just carelessness. Due to this Batley had a huge spell where Fax hardly touched the ball. Penalties are rarely given against when you have the ball but often when you defending set after set. Only some strong defence (apart from one particularly bad read) and hard work kept us in the game.
Once again when one of the on field leaders goes off, Last week Murrell this week Grix, we turn into the headless chickens. Heaven forbid they run into each other!
Three games in and it seems to me solution is easy though hard to correct. Stop giving ball up and we will win most games this year. Rugby league is a simple game.

I thought Sharpe was awesome, my man of match by a mile, then Larroyer and QLT (despite his catching).

Roll on PO Road , and perform to our best.

If you honestly believe that Harrison's team would have competed in this division as competitive as it is has been then you are completely and utterly deluded.

If you dont think/realise that RMs team over the last 5 years is essentially the squad that Harrison put together then you are the deluded one Nat.....

Harrison was the start of the rot with his very poor man-management skills and poor tactics. RMs additions to the squad have been mediocre in the main with very little done to improve the key areas the team lacks.... Half Backs.

The team has been in the main Harrison's squad. If you think we have moved on as a team then you are totally off your head

Lesson to learn when you sack a dour 5 drives and kick coach ex forward as coach don't replace with a similar animal who didn't even have half his playing pedigree.

After a confident start crisp handling we looked in total control which we some how managed to turn into a mistake ridden penalty strewn 2nd half looking totally inept thank goodness Tyrer had his kicking boots on & Sharpe for his taking of the high ball.
Only positives we won & the Att was 264 up on last year.

I thought it was a shocking performance for most of the game. Goal line defence was very good which I guess is one plus but when you are completing at under 50% and giving away so many penaltys its going to have to be. Theres no point glossing over it but Batley are at best an average team in this league and I can think of at least 3 maybe 4 games that would have run 40 or 50 points on them yesterday given our 12 point lead. As has been said certain players attitudes don't seem to be right and for me that is just a run over from a very poor pre season. Im still hoping that a SL job comes up for RM early season and we can get Grix and Murrell officially running the show.

Greetings Pete, met with Jon and Dave fevgrinder yesterday for a couple of drinks they hope to see you and Mick next week.Fev are a decent side, you will be glad to hear I’m tipping them to beat Fax by 10 next week, I was impressed with the Boas brothers, they will have to be watched.A big improvement from Leigh, if I was offered 2 wins from our first 4 games I would have taken that easy, as I expect us to get beat next Sunday by Toronto.Give Di my best wishes.

Ey-up Ian. If Fax had played against your lads like they played yesterday you would have had 3 from 4 now, we really were awful. Saying that, a win's a win and I allus say the sign of a good team is winning when you play badly which we did. See you in June mate. Up The Fax! The Sportsman, shuddersfield. Wonder if we’re the team in for Baldwinson,I’d take him we’re still a forward light imo.
