You do start wondering if you should be planning for life without certain players.
Budgie and Manfredi are prime examples. While I feel sorry for them, particularly Manfredi, it's making me wonder if they're just taking up salary cap space that could be used elsewhere. That may seem like a harsh viewpoint, but they're allegedly our two first choice wingers and yet I can't remember the last time they both played in the same side and at full power.
I wish Manfredi's health was more reliable. He deserves a big shot, but he seems to be very vulnerable to injuries. I'm less sympathetic to Budge as he purposely stepped away from the club for 12 months, and according to the rumour-mongers at least, has been talking about leaving again, but he too seems to have become injury-prone in recent times.
It's a weird one, because they are devastating wingmen on their day. But they're both in their mid-20s now, and we hardly ever seem to see them play.
