I thought we looked pretty comfortable in that game apart from the 1st 20 or so minutes from there I never really thought we were going to lose. I'm not sure the performance was any better than last week just the reality we were playing a much better team last week, I always got the feeling today we could step it up a few gears. Obviously RM thought we were comfortable too awarded the luxury of getting Murrell off the field early in the 2nd half although it must still be a worry for him that we seem to go to pieces without him on the field.
Still way too many penalties in our game and against a good team we will get punished so hopefully that is something that can be worked on. A few clowns at the end causing trouble but looked to be just more infighting so maybe that was just the fall out of their players falling out on the pitch.

Just relieved to have got the result. The pack looked pretty strong with the backs supporting them well in running the ball out and finished well in attack.

Better team won - no arguments about that. The couple of late tries flattered us a bit - pity you didn't take Murrell off at half time! We made a lot of mistakes, but that's probably because you forced us into them.
I'm not really surprised at the result, or that you were better - at least today.
By the way, how 'eccentric' do you think Gareth Hewer was? (for both teams) I can understand that players get frustrated/confused - although Pownall was stupid, applauding him after a deserved sin-binning.

I agree Alan, best team won, I tipped Fax win by 8 so not far off, we were poor didn’t make a clear break all game, I still think along with Fev we and Fax will fight out the 5th spot.We need more invention in our kicking game and Woods needs to run at the line.Hewer was a bit puzzling at times the turning point being early second half we attack , kick at the line , Fax knock on ,and impede Leigh player Hewer awards Fax a penalty, for obstruction.Fax score 2 back to back tries.Anyway I’m not to downhearted, great to see Hudd Shay and Bentleyman, and a few other of my Fax friends, hope to see you in the return game.
Looks like Halifax fans are totally 'underwhelmed' by beating this 'quickly assembled' Leigh Centurions side. When they got stuffed by Widnes, they weren't so quiet. BLESS

It probably says a lot about our performance. Our whole pre-season seemed lacklustre and we seem to be off the pace but when we wanted to turn it on against a solid Leigh team we were able to blow them off the park and put the game to bed in a 20 minute or so spell enough so that we could take two of our main players off. It is hard to get away from the fact that given both teams pre-seasons this was a game that most Fax fans had down as a easy win up until last week. On the plus side for us we have a number of good first teamers to come back in to the team so in that respect we should improve but we will get a much tougher test in a couple of weeks time against Fev who look to have put together a team that should easily be around the top 4 in the league.
