Ruptured achilles in training apparently. Im 5mths post rupture, feel for the lad. Its an awful injury. Im 35 and overweight, he’ll probably get top treatment but still a 12mth recovery to full fitness.

Well they've got Roberts and Aston to fill in but that is a huge blow for their chances of silverware in 2019. Probably looking at a 5th to 8th finish rather than a top four finish now imo.

Yeah sadly I agree. Webster has hardly been in his prime but still did a job for Cas. Reading another Cas forum, talk of Roberts currently being injured as well as Ellis for a couple of months.
Trueman and McShane in the halves with Milner at hooker wouldn’t be the end of the world. McShane for me has gone from one of the most underrated players in SL to one of the best.

Feel for the lad, hope he recovers fully from it. As others have said it’s a big blow to Cas.

Seen some say Cas dealt with Gale’s injury last year. However he got injured around Round 13 and other playoff contenders in Hull and Leeds had already hit their own issues. Doing without him from Round 1 throughout the season will be very different, just his loss in goal kicking and drop goals especially with the newly introduced golden point will cost them several points in the final league table.

To counter that printer, we used 8 full backs last year. Many of which by the time gale got injured.
This time we have a settled full back, who is a specialist there, he's a decent player and has a pre season with us. It wasn't just gale who we had injured last year either, we had plenty !
He's a loss but I'm still not expecting us to fall off a cliff.

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Key word you use there, he’s a “decent” player.
Also I’m not expecting you to fall off a cliff, but it will hurt and effect your league position by at least 2 places if not more.
