Hi ,
I am roger omahonys daughter in law , we have enjoyed reading through these comments , thankyou ☺️ He was still as strong as an ox , that’s what’s made it all the harder to believe! Do you have anymore memories of him ?
In 80/81 Dave Chishall scored the finest solo try vs Bradford N that I've ever seen in my life.
Although an aging prop....Chissy could shift.
He dummy kicked to defenders and set off running 70 yards without a finger on him until Keith Mumby, who also took a dummy, caught him only as DC was about to score.
What a try....but there was only 3 people able to keep up with him, the ref....me as the ball boymm....and Roger.
Roger was the first to congratulate him and gave him a round of applause. Never seen a player openly clap a team mate.
It was some try, but as a said Roger was the only guy to keep up with DC
