Roger O'Mahoney RIP : Wed Oct 10, 2018 6:59 am
I see from the Warrington Guardian that Roger has sadly passed away. I remember him as an exciting and talented hooker from the days when scrums were brutal and contested. RIP Roger.

A good, no nonsense hooker, who played well for us

Sadly for Roger, he had some good uns Infront of him at GB level (Beardmore, Kiss and of course Noble)

Sad news. Some memory jogging pics with Chizzy and Mike Gregory. A good dependable and durable number 9.

Sad. A very good player. As a young boy when I used to watch them train at Loushers Lane, Kevin Ashcroft once told me he was the fittest player in the club. He always seems to win the run back to Wilderspool after training.

Pretty certain we did.
I saw he at Watersheddings, near beat us on his own.
We signed him the year after...Mike Ford was another who did the same.

I think the club shat on him.
He got awarded club player of the year then they took if off him.
He left and never came back... that pee'd John Bevan off no end so he also left.

In 80/81 Dave Chishall scored the finest solo try vs Bradford N that I've ever seen in my life.
Although an aging prop....Chissy could shift.
He dummy kicked to defenders and set off running 70 yards without a finger on him until Keith Mumby, who also took a dummy, caught him only as DC was about to score.

What a try....but there was only 3 people able to keep up with him, the ref....me as the ball boymm....and Roger.
Roger was the first to congratulate him and gave him a round of applause. Never seen a player openly clap a team mate.

It was some try, but as a said Roger was the only guy to keep up with DC
