I agree with you that some of these names seem bonkers. However, the advantage of buying a marquee player is it only costs you £150k of the salary cap.

Seems to me that Delaney and mullally are definitely on the out track. JJB? Keinhorst likely to HKR and I think Walters likely out as well.
It would not surprise me to see Golding out on loan next season.
The key one to sign up from U19's is Holroyd IMO.
I'd sign Crosby but let Thompson go.
Be interesting to see where Drinkwater ends up next year, I can see Wigan and Wire both being keen on him.

Couldn't be bothered to find the thread, but for those interested Lolohea has been picked in the Tongan squad to play Aus in October.

Also in the YEp article on Delaney' season being over it suggests he has another offer from us to keep on going. If its right about him and Ablett then IMO Sinfield isn't making the tough decisions yet.

I didn`t for one minute think Sinfield would be ballsy enough to make the hard decisions hence why I have never liked the idea of players coming back to coach or end up as the Director of Rugby at the club they played for only a few years ago.
I know the likes of Radlinski has done it at Wigan but for me Leeds seem to have this big family attitude/mentality that takes loyalty too far.
I do hope he does see the light and puts sentiment to one side and makes decisions for the good of the club and not for his cronies.
Time will tell.

Delaney article's here. If you read his comments towards the end it's no cert he'll sign for next year. Which would make sense if that means Delaney and JJB retire or move on and Ablett stays on a reduced salary.
Out of the 3 I do think Ablett has slightly more to offer.

I wouldnt keep any of them or Thompson Mullally Walters or Ferres

Yet Delaney has a much better work rate than Ablett, Ferres or Thompson and so does does Walters. You cannot blame the terrible season ending facial injury sustained by Delaney on age either.

For the first third of the season we had lost only 2 games despite having half the squad out injured and even when we started to lose it was only by the odd point against the likes of Wigan. This was due in great part to the solid defence of the much castigated old timers Delaney, JJB and Ablett.

Yes we do need some fresh blood in the back row but the main blame for our desperate position is the lack of replacing Sinfield and Maguire in the 6 position and the high number of long term injuries injuries especially in the front row. This had a knock on effect on others who undertook the Centre defensive work of the missing big men which led to further injuries and loss of form. eg Parcell. Moon's poor form and having to play Sutcliffe haven't helped much either.

However if we sign a couple of decent front rowers , a line breaking back rower and a strike centre, some of the players currently exposed would look much better along side a few stars.
