Quite right Col. Charlie has been a poster on here, whose views and opinions are respected by folk who know him. He is also a genuine Leyther, who has gone the extra mile to raise much needed funds, when times have been desperate before - and I'm sure he would again. Also, he is an individual, who is just as entitled to post his opinion as the next person. I believe we should all accept that!
Thanks Alan, you know me well, always ready to help my beloved Centurions.
Well 4 posts in I'm not too sure how much you know of the historical posters and threads on this forum - but welcome aboard.
For me, everyone (within reason) is welcome on here. Not sure having a go at a specific individual (especially one who seem Leigh through and through to me) is the best way forward, but enjoy the ride
Col, I think even you know I mean no malice, I do love Leigh Centurions dearly.
If Charlie chats rubbish I’m sure, even though we probably don’t think it, most of the rest of us are in the same boat, but that’s our right. So chat on Charlie, we all know!
In his initial statement, on 25 July, did our owner not promise a 'more detailed statement at the beginning of next week?' (i.e. the beginning of this week)
I note Harold's earlier explanation that he is waiting for the new structure to be announced - although goodness knows how that will impact on us, now, or when it is likely to occur!
In a similar vein, we announced the signing of Brendan Elliott and another overseas' player, immediately before the initial statement of doom from our owner. Surely the club had an inkling then, that all may not have been well, and may have been better served not to make the announcement of signings?
We seem to be very good at announcing positive news (and that's great) but less so at announcing the not-so-positive news. Meanwhile the rumour mill goes into overdrive!
Personally, I would welcome a further statement on our situation.

I would say DB just wants out, but he's awaiting the final outcome. Ralph Rimmer stated in his interview " Its not all about the structure" It's about putting things in place that take the game forward to 2021.
As I stated in another thread, I assume that will see a return to licensing now rather than 2022. Clubs not meeting the criteria now, have three years to meet it. I would imagine the current deliberation which would concern Toronto and Toulouse, as in what criteria should be set in order to protect them along with SL Clubs who also don't meet the proposed criteria at present.
