It's just what I've heard from a few people whom work at other SL clubs, could be wide of the mark...

I’m wondering if that’s the rumour somebody has got confused with when they’re saying Lam may have done a Brett Ferres. The only rumour of that kind I can remember was Furner involving Lockers sister/Andy Farrells wife.

It was a pile of sh*te apparantly and from somebody who had a few dealings with Dave Furner through work I’d have been stunned. He seems one of the nicest blokes you could wish to meet and was friends with Farrell after the rumours went round.

As for his coaching ability, I don’t know a great deal about it but I’d be happy enough to see him here based on character.

If you apply that rule you have to rule out Furner. He was fired from Canberra. He is the only coach they have ever sacked. He was lambasted for changing their style of play. (He replaced Neil Henry who would be a very good choice for our new coach).

I also can’t see it being Madge anyway. He had his time, he is now the coach of New Zealand. Plus his style of play is now outdated. His block plays have turned around at Souths and they are playing a much more attractive style of play and winning.
That's fine with e, would sooner take a punt on Demitriou

It was all rubbish that was made up by a Saints fan before the Challenge cup final. Another rumour that was spread at the time was that Farrell's sister had been killed in a car crash on her way to the final. Some real weirdos around.

Bloody Ell, never heard the second rumour at the time, just remember the first one, then Furner went to Leeds shortly after.

Some saddos about.

Edwards without a doubt.

So what if hes been out of the game for years? Apart from some small rule changes, the game is still the same game and nobody was tactically better than Edwards as a player. John Monie often said it was like having an extra coach on the field when he was playing. Throw the money at him.

Still the same game? I have to disagree there. The sterile stuff on offer these days is miles away from what I remember watching.

On SKY tonight they are saying Leeds will have a pressy Friday 10am to announce who will coach the club to the end of season.
They will also make a significant statement about the coach from 2019.
Barrie McD thinks coach next year will be Furner.

We just have to have confidence in IL and KR to get our appointment right. It shouldn’t impact on us who goes to Leeds unless they have nicked in and snaffled our man but I doubt we’d ever know for sure if that happened. That said, I can’t wait to see who we end up with, I’m like an excited child waiting for a present! :D

Doesn't Barrie McDermott work for Leeds as part of the youth system? I doubt they would want him revealing the next coach on SKY prior to their press conference. I would think him saying that makes it less likely that Furner will be the Leeds coach. Otherwise he has stolen his employer's thunder by ruining their announcement.
