Ruthless and brave decission from GH. Now BMc has gone, if our season does not pick up enough to avoid the middle 8s or (heaven forfend) relegation. The spotlight will be on GH and especially his P poor recruitment to replace the quality and depth we have lost in recent years. BMc has been the whipping boy but he's not the only one at fault for this season.
What a balloon you are,I get it’s probably time for a change but to make a comment like that after the success he brought to the club is pathetic. I’m a Wire fan btw
It does seem theres more to this as the timing is strange. Would be interesting to hear some of the players thoughts!
I was at the charity game on Saturday, and spoke with a few players, and the message was "watch this space", but I totally assumed it was a signing 100%.

Do you think players will be happy with the decision? I get the feeling quite a few will be?
There seems to be an abundance of talent in the U16's and U19's at the moment. Whilst these players will not be ready for SL anytime soon, the new coach needs to be someone who can work with RB to develop these players to an extent where they fulfill their potential. I'd be looking for someone with a proven ability to get kids to reach their potential, and also someone who can attract the big game players we will need to support us over the next few years until the kids are ready.
Incidentally, I'd also be changing the fitness team for next season too, because regardless of injuries, we look as unfit as at any time I can remember since the 1980's...

I think the performances tell us that. Whether right or wrong, the players certainly didn't look like they wanted to play for him any more and there was a clear dressing room issue. But like anyone else, I thought the club would have given it until the end of the season to change. I guess the rift is probably bigger than we think, and with what is on the line perhaps the only option the club had.
I do think it will be a team coaching effort until the end of the season though, personally. Burrow, Lowes, JJB, Walker.

In many fans eyes he's not been good enough since day one. I'm not sure it is possible to do more for the club than Brian McDermott has done, but said people can't see beyond the end of their nose.
The players need to shoulder responsibility for the plight of this season, not the manager. Onwards and upwards.
GH hasn't helped with replacements in the squad. We are still missing a proper stand off, one more good prop and with Delaney, jjb and Ablett getting old or knackered we now need another back rower or two, given Wards injury luck and Ferres being a bit player since signing.
That said McD must have seen this coming, if he didn't it just shows his monumental arrogance.
We need to do the best we can for this season and look at signing a coach that can build a team and use a bench. As for who, I don't know. I just hope we don't make the sane mistake with Powell by rushing Burrow,Sinfield or peacock into a head coaching role
