Having given out all those free tickets the JS ought to be a loud and totally Huddersfield supporting arena on Friday, none of this polite applause during warm ups for the aggressive, rule bending Dragons, silence or boo’s should be the order of the day. A leaf from HT’s playbook making the JS not the most pleasant of places for the away team but loud and wholly supportive for the Giants.

A successful French team is important for RL you may say and we should get behind them ? Crap !! They bring nothing to our game only for themselves and yeah the French National side is going to get better when their stars are called Tomkins, Moa, Anderson Bird McIllorum, Drinkwater etc.

All the tricks of the trade will be on display Ollie Russell had better expect an early and late soft hit to test how far Hewer will let them go, injuries will abound when they are under pressure and constant appeals will be forthcoming over the Giants lack of discipline and foul play making them the victims of our foul play not the other way around.

If they came and played an expansive form of pure RL and beat us 40-0 I would applaud them but we all know Friday by their hand, will be an elongated stop start game with unpunished things like cannonball tackles and late hits with late flops abounding.

With no Danny Brough to get in Hewer’s ear and upset him and Woolford having seen this first hand two weeks ago we should go out there, be disciplined, allow their spoiling to go over our heads, keep all the frustration that their antics cause at bay and both on and off the field make the JS Huddersfield the most unwelcoming place on earth for them.

Oh and of course beat them cos I’d like to at least be happy at the end of another two hour game......

If Woolford is any sort of coach, and the players have anything at all between their ears it shouldn’t be a 2 hour game.
If We allow that to happen and Catalan to dictate the speed we are doomed.
We should up the pace early on and fight for every second around the ruck. In leeming and O Brien we have that available to us.
We need to go round Catalan, not just by going out wide early on but switching plays to wrong foot their big immobile big guys. And make breaks in the middle.
Let’s hope we can give the big crowd something to cheer about, we need to!

Well I shall be there supporting the Dragons. Thanks for the free ticket. Each team should play to its strengths . Anyone would think from the above post that Huddersfield have been a free flowing team this year. The crack about the French national team has some merit ,but the Dragons continue to supply over half the French squad. And we got well over 9000 paying customers against Widnes last Saturday.

i agree about the 'welcoming' of catalans when they come out to warm up etc... a few did it last time.... then they are they ones booing them when we lose!! should not be making them feel welcome at all.

no doubt they will get more support than ever tomorrow though as there will be opposition fans cheering them on to beat us.

we already know their game plan... hope we dont fall for it again and the big one to start with is us cutting down the errors and completing sets and finishing off our sets with a good kick...make their big forwards work..no stop start to give them a rest

My concern is how my team counter the cynical stuff that everyone knows the Cats will play.

I just hope that this time someone sees a cannonball tackle and an off the ball late shot if they happen again and deals with the play acted injuries or attempts to convince the ref your players had been fouled to obtain penalties.

Had Brough got in Hewers ear as much as Micky Mac and co he would have been in the bin.... so why’s that not a two way street ??

No ,but I go to Perpignan 5 times a season on average. I thought we played okay against Widnes ,but that you played better against Leeds . I am just trying to make the point that we are not the only team in Super League that concentrates on the basics and slows the game down. One should not presume that these tactics are illegal or that Refs. are biased in our favour.

Unfortunately I am expecting a similar game to the cup game, as Catalan have adopted the same tactics against us at home numerous times before and have got away with it!
It will be interesting to see how many times if we keep the kick infield on the last tackle play, that when the big Catalan forwards are puffing and blowing, the wingers or full back will go down with a mysterious injury!
This is very difficult to get around as the ref will always stop play!
The play acting that has crept into the game is driving me mad....
