I thought that penalty was a good one tbh. Marshall was in to him all day and Charnley was rattled. The result? Marshall scores one and sets an absolute blinder up.

I agree the drop ball was a bad one but he didn’t wilt and came back stronger. He’s been pretty good on the error front this year.

I can't condone a player trying to drop another on his head/neck. Bit of a disgrace to state it was a 'good one'. Then it put us up against it giving them a set of 6 in our half. Seems like some players can do no wrong.

Give over, he never tried to drop him on his head, it was just a clumsy tackle. I agree Marshall has his flawless but he's got one thing you can't coach and that's speed.

Sorry. no. There's too many serious injuries with stupid tackles like that. I guess cos he's fast it's ok.

The tackle wasn't good, but I think it's clear that Marshall has worked on his defence to good effect. The dropped ball was about his only other error that I recall, and everyone drops one under pressure sometimes. If he keeps working at his game, he will be just fine. He has good footwork as well as pace, and has the makings of a very good player indeed. One way or another, there's no denying he got the better of Charnley (who will of course be chomping at the bit for the re-match) on this occasion.

Actually, just looking at the SL stats this season (and I know they don't tell the whole story) Marshall has 10 tries, 5 assists, and 3 missed tackles. Perceval has 19 missed tackles (!), Regan Grace has 14, Joe Burgess has 13. Marshall is less good on errors (15), but still better than many of the top outside backs in SL.

So yes, work in progress, but heading in the right direction I think.

If he improves parts of his game he'll go great. Always exciting when he gets the ball in open space, you always feel there's a chance something might happen. Would be interested to see how Davies would perform on the left wing, he's starved of good ball and open space over on the right.
