Fair point actually. The attitude to the games does seem different though, even if maybe the soundbites aren't.

The attitude on the pitch is markedly different to some other arguably more gifted Bulls sides of the recent past.

can't take anybody for granted. They're in the same league as us.

What I will say is that we have a very good squad that are well capable of performing very well, providing we perform to the best of our abilities.

Provided we stay injury free I think we'll really start to see the best stuff when the warmer days come and the pitches harden up. The spine of McNally, Keyes, Chisholm and Flanagan has lots of tries in them not to mention our man Pickersgill.

Remember we have a lot of players who've yet to fully learn how to play together. When they gel it's going to be something.

I know we are all trying to be ever so respectful and humble these days - but, really, we need to be beating teams like Hunslet.

OK they are unbeaten. They scraped past Hemel in Week 1 - probably the next worst team after West Wales. And on Sunday they looked barely convincing in beating North Wales

I accept we need to be guarding against complacency - and I think Kear will make sure that doesn't happen - but I am expecting a comfortable win on Sunday, albeit after some early struggles (and possibly a bit of biff involving Flanagan :wink: )

Not sure it matters how much fans being 'bullish' matters, though it doesn't look good, or win any brownie points, if we're perceived as arrogant. As I think we have learnt in the past.

As said above, I'm sure JK will keep the squad grounded, since any team which feels there are 'walkovers' to be had is likely get its comeuppance pretty quickly.

That's usually when the coach says - "we need to earn the right to play". Which is respect, building pressure, completing sets, 3 men in the tackle, all the simple, basic stuff. Which, fair enough, we have started to do.

Indeed Highlander. We’ve a long season to complete yet too. This time last year we were celebrating beating Batley convincingly at home. All the pundits were saying we’d soon cancel out the points deduction and stay up.

Then Easter came and it all fell apart.

This year the squad looks much better and I don’t think we’ll see another slump like 2017 but it’s worth remembering to avoid complacency.

Given that Bustin, Wood and Johnson remain loanees I still wouldn’t be surprised to see Kear bring in a permanent signing or two if the right man became available.
