"I've got one word for you Mr Chairman - Penalty Count"
I've got one word for you all......Steve Hanley
Some Salford fan said to me and I quote "You are by far and away the most Handsome & Knowledgeable Rugby League Fan in England!"

I thanked him and went on my Merry way!

RIVERCAVE DWELLER OF THE YEAR 2015!

"The club used you last night and didn't tell the truth."

Officially one of the 119 Mugs used by the club

I dislike his constant bitching and whining and acting like a petulant child to the referee and in general on the field. It’s embarassing and it must stop, especially for a player who is a role model. His game is worse for it.

You don’t think this “switcheroo” is bad? If you can’t see the issues you’re either blind to it or as you put it “have zero idea”. Powell is not a 7, he’s a 9. I don’t get why SW has altered his game so much to being a 9 for the past few seasons only to now revert him back to 7. It just doesn’t make sense, we don’t look fluid, speedy or unpredictable when he plays 7 - we look the stark opposite and it takes this utterly ridiculous switch to make us look anywhere near half decent. If this is SW’s grand master plan for Wigan then we truly are accepting mediocrity and SW truly has ran out of ideas.

The starting HB’s should be Williams and Tomkins with Escare at FB and Powell at hooker. It’s a shame that we all know it’s going to take an injury to someone before he changes that. That’s either SW’s stubbornness to change or his blindness.

Oh and just because your view differs from mine does not mean I should “go and support another club”. You’re embarassing yourself jumping to that statement without reason or proper debate.

To be honest I stopped reading your earlier post at "Tomkins equally isn't a fullback".

He's the best fullback at this club still and currently would be my England number 1.

Now if it's better for our team to have escare at 1 and Tomkins at half back I don't mind debating.
But not a fullback!!! Ridiculous statement.

I couldn’t disagree anymore. S Tomkins was a very good FB, he isn’t anymore and Escare is or certainly will be better than him in the FB role. S Tomkins is a born and bred HB and it’s time that he made the switch back to his natural position where he actually benefits the team more than he does at FB.

Putting aside his drugs ban, ZH would be far and away the England #1 and again is by far the better FB than Tomkins. Tomkins came nowhere near the England squad, it doesn’t say much for your point about England #1 does it?

Tomkins at FB is the past and his future is back in the halves.

I think ST is (just) still a better full-back than Escaré (which doesn't mean it might not be better for the club if ST plays in the halves, of course).

But, to put it in proportion, neither of them are near NRL standard. Indeed, Hardaker, touted as the best full-back in the country, is not NRL standard either. And that's purely on an on-pitch basis, ignoring his off-pitch issues.

And I agree about Tomkins' whingeing. Just shut up and get on with the game!

Personally I like to see a player who is doing well being allowed to do it until a change is necessary, for example when the energy levels are about to drop off. This should not be a problem for our backs.

Slightly off topic, but what went on with Hicks and O'Loughlin on Friday? I think Wane decided to bring Lockers off with about 15 to go to stop him being sent off.
Hicks was really animated and Lockers didn't want to back down, it was going on all through the game.

I already mentioned this in another thread. Looked like they were discussing War & Peace and I also thought Wane took him off to avoid a red card.

Sam was NRL standard pre-injuries. He wasn't in the top few full-backs in the league, but he was certainly good enough to hold down a first team spot.

Also I agree with those saying Sam is the better full-back than Escaré. Escaré has pace which is always good, but i think Sam beats him in every other facet.
