Bottled It : Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:00 pm
Once again in a massive match a "top" British referee bottles it and fails to send a player off at a vital time. Silverwood you softcock.

The spear deserved a red and why were so many warnings given to Storm about holding down yet after every single offence, he did no more than award a penalty.

I don't think Senior's foul mouthing was quite worth sending off, but then again, I don't know exactly what he said.

Silverwood appeared to warn Storm about lying on...........then the next time they did it he just gave a penalty and didn't bin anyone (so why the warning)............then in the second half he just wiped the slate clean and started again..............d1ck!

and B.B.B it doesn't need to be a spear tackle to send him off...............it was a dangerous tackle and as such can be punishable by a sending off..............you've made it clear in most of your other posts that you know very little about rugby league.

Mr Southstander himself has said it is a spear tackle in the report. Seeing as his word is final in these here lands, we can safely assume it is a spear. HTH

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

Re: Bottled It : Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:25 pm
A key decision was to allow Melbourne to quick tap their penalty which led to the try, he hadnt even given the signal that it was a penalty before they ran it, Leeds line was solid all night but they were given no chance to set and they scored in the corner, watch it again and Silverwood has no idea what is happening - later when Leeds tried to quick tap a 20m restart he sent them back

SL rules say you cant quick tap a penalty (not since Jacko) and can quick tap a 20 restart

Typical english attitude from Silverwood, lets play to their rules, of course the aussies could never be wrong - the PTB was the slowest you will see all season, when he warns them he doesnt follow up on it at the next penalty and there was no control hence the brawls - dump tackle off the ball is a sinbinning at least for mine

And when Melbourne tried the quick tap earlier in the game he disallowed it, then Leeds got away with a faster one. Swings and roundabouts.

Will the game not have been played under International Rules? I know these ban quick 20m but not sure what they say about penalties.
