I think I'm slightly disappointed already and I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive.

If only the Headingley Stories didn't exclude player's totals when making less than ten appearances for the club. Incomplete records are frustrating and yes I completely agree with your desire to see the club plug the gap.

i was browsing waterstones recently and i came a cross a who's who of leeds united it gave a pen picture of just about every player who played for either city or united

I have a 'Who's Who of Rugby League' from the late seventies written by the now Sky stat guru Ian Proctor. Ian was a big Leeds fan at the time (probably still is?) and although the book covered all first division clubs of the day it was the Leeds' players who appeared to feature most frequently for some strange reason.

there is a chapter called" they played here twice" and it only gives the impression that Gary Mercer and dean bell played for the club left and came back and played again.well i'm not a club historian, but i know Fred Pickup left to play for Manly then came back quite a few years later and played for the club again as did Ken Thornett

Did Les Dyl play for anyone else whilst he was 'away' from Headingley ?

I knew Ians dad Bernard. He loved arguing with referees throughout the amateur game
