Warrington Wizards outstanding 19 year old stand off Billy Sheen has been crowned The Co-operative Rugby League Conference National Young Player of the Year for 2009 at a star studded Co-operative Championships Celebration Dinner on Tuesday evening in Manchester.

Sheen has had an outstanding season for the Wizards scoring 28 tries, including five hat tricks and a five timer at Gateshead. He has also collected seven Man of the Match awards along the way.

Club Administrator Dave Whalley was delighted for Sheen. He said, “Billy has been sensational for us this season. He has scored some unbelievable tries and is a very worthy recipient. He is without doubt the best support player in the league aswell as having an uncanny ability to create a try out of nothing with his great awareness and vision for a gap. This award is fantastic for him and is also a proud achievement for the club. Everybody at the Wizards is absolutely thrilled for him.”
