Congratulations to Keighley, the club the fans the whole lot. Led the league by example and thoroughly deserve the title and the promotion.

100%

They are where I wanted the Dons to make the effort (over the last 5 years) to be.
I think I saw your double there today Gary.

 Came to have a look at a couple of things ...

1) The best team in the League (as far as results / the table are concerned)
2) If anything had changed in a positive way since my decision to stop contributing to Club Doncaster / The Dons.

It's disappointing we've not been able to do something similar. As we know from our association with the fans' panel in the past, Gary, there are certain issues that never seem to get addressed and appear to hold us back.

We've still got the chance of the backdoor route to the Championship. I very much hope we make it but Club Doncaster will need to step up their game if we're to establish ourselves in that league although Carl used to say that he thought getting out of this league was the hard part.

Personally, I believe that getting out of this league is the easy bit, survival in the Championship would be a major challenge.
What we saw was ambition vs a stagnant club! What Keighley spent this season is a drop in the ocean to our owners but sadly they there's no fire in the belly or any interest in becoming a Keighley, let's just keep on making small losses and putting a team out there that can win a few games.
We lacked direction in the halves and certainly missed Ben Johnson.
I thought today we were second best and our main strike players were below par, in what proved to be a fast paced game we were the first to crack.
I hope Robbie's injury is not too serious ,as I think he has looked good towards the latter end on the season after a slow start.

I thought Hall looked good when he came on at full back linking well for Tom's try.
I watched the kids highlights reel and he looks to be a quality player , didn't get much game time at Bradford but has pace and skill and was very highly thought of by Lingard at Batley while on loan there.
Hopefully see more of the kid Friday, in what will be a tough trip to Hunslet.

Ben Johnson should be available after returning from holiday, as without him we look lost in attack. I saw on his Twitter he was flying home at around midnight Saturday so fingers crossed he is fit and good to go.

Finally ,I don't know if Ben Howes dad is on this forum , but if not can someone please tell him to think before commenting on posts on the main club site .
I appreciate he is not happy that the club have signed another full back, however he is doing his son no favours making comments like a spoiled child because his son is not selected. I like Ben but as someone else said surely the staff that see the players day in day out are better placed to make team selections than a players dad who looks through rose tinted glasses.
If RH didn't think the signing warranted then why make it.

We need to get back on the horse and finish the season strongly , I think Swinton are the team to beat in the playoffs but if we play like we did against them away I'm sure we can do a job and get promotion.

There's always next year  On yesterdays showing we currently would be in a similar position to where Workington find themselves this season, up in a blaze of euphoria but unless the Club is prepared to spend more than the allotted amount given to them by Club Doncaster we would struggle. The sad part for me is can anyone seriously see any significant change happening. first class stadium and playing surface, League 1 team in a groundhog routine and a catering arm (outside the posh seats) that would struggle to run a burger van.

The sight of dear old Ray Green trying to ask youngsters to volunteer to be ball boys and girls 15 mins before kick off was slightly

I agree , the club needs to think very carefully about next seasons financials , we need to spend to get out of League one but the costs for the Championship are another level altogether
Both Leigh and Fev have turned the Championship into a two horse race, and must be close to spending seven figures this season with no guarantee of promotion.

I admire the fact that Beaumont and Cambell have both given their coaches the tools they think will get them to the promised land of Super League with strong financial backing . Club Doncaster must do the same if the club is to prosper.

If the club is serious about getting out of League one then they need to back RH with the money to do so. Keighley on paper look to have had the largest budget and gained promotion with two games to spare.

For me the answer is simple , to win league one you need to sign a squad of Championship quality players in key positions as Keighley have proved.
Over to you Club Doncaster.
Sadly our money men are prefer sitting on their loot and watching all of their teams under their control ply their trade in the bottom divisions! The people at the top are too set in their ways to do a Keighley and weirdly our super fans on the facebook page have zero ambition to push the club to do better. Until we break the 'at least we have a team to support on a sunday' statement we will always just plod on making the same excuses for year after year failure.

Surely the revenue generated from being in The Championship will make up for the previous years spend if we pushed the boat out next season and went for it.

Home games against Bradford , Fev ,Batley ,Halifax , Leigh even the Seagulls would see the coffers swell well above the coach full of fans from Oldham ,Hunslet ,Rochdale and North Wales
.
We have one of the best stadia in the country , I'm sure with a team to match we could put Doncaster City on the RL map.
