L1 Results Grid 4.9.22.png

Weekend Results:
N Wales 12, Swinton 38; Midlands 42, Cornwall 26; Oldham 30, Hunslet 18; Rochdale 24, Keighley 56; Dons 70, London 22.

Swinton claimed second place with their win at N Wales. The Dons nearly overhauled N Wales for third place but failed on points diff.

We needed to win by 51 and won by 48 although due the very high number of points we scored in the London game a 50 points win would have actually secured third place. Had Conner Robinson’s final conversion been successful, we would have made it!

Oldham’s win against Hunslet means they’re in the play-offs and Hunslet aren’t.

The inept RFL strike again as their website gives no clues when the play-offs are due to be played or whether the matches will be on Our League. There’s nothing on the Dons’ site either.

Play-Offs:
Swinton get a bye in week one.

N Wales v Dons and Rochdale v Oldham are the two fixtures.

If the Dons win, we will be away to Swinton in the next round. If we lose, we get a second chance at home to the winners of the Rochdale v Oldham game.

Here's the play-off grid:

Providing the format is the same as last year, if we win at N Wales and then win at Swinton, we're at home in the final.

Have I got this correct, beat NWC next week, beat Swinton at Swinton the week after. Have a week off, at home in the final.

Simple stuff

My Gawd they will deserve that if they can pull it off.

Yes, I believe that to be the case, Wilf, but the RFL don't like to make these things as clear as they should!

I can't find anything that says when the play-offs are scheduled for. There's nothing on the Our League site. Such poor communications aren't really good enough, are they? After all, we're only fans!

Thanks DM. Trust the RFL to be up to speed, I hope the Dons Media team are on the ball this week and travelling fans can make their arrangements quickly. I was going to put expediently but that sounds like an hotel booking firm (apt)

 Wilf, do we know what happened to that media man who appeared and then disappeared?

It ought to have been made clear before today when the play-offs are scheduled for but this just seems par for the course with communications by the RFL and the Dons.

Confirmed that the Dons will play NWC at Eirias Park Stadium, Colwyn Bay 2.30pm ko Sun 11th Sept. Bus travel and interest for that mode of transport being assessed.

Looks like he's disappeared back into the bunker at the Eco Power.

Thanks Wilf. At the time of writing, there's still nothing on the Dons website. The N Wales website has got the game listed.

Nothing yet on the Our League site. They streamed the play-offs last season. Let's hope they do the same this time.

Due to injuries, Rochdale could only name a 14-man squad in their game against Keighley.
