Cooper Johns released from Melbourne. Scrum Half, 23.

I'd guess his name alone would get him a deal in the NRL though

Matt Shaw seems to think Wire and Holmes have settled their differences

Does anyone rate him? Seen him a couple of times and not overly impressed

To be honest I expect very little change if at all any. Smith is preparing to back his methods to at least see an improvement in culture and performances on the pitch. Given how many are out of contract in 2023 I reckon thats where most of his eggs will be.

I mean if all else I am happy with his press conferences not committing to ridiculous statements like we want the four ect. Purely just committing to improvement week on week and wanting the players to do there best to minute 80. I often feel these lofty ambitions our previous coaches come out with have done nothing but add to the preassure in a squad low on confidence and morale. Dont get me wrong its far from the problem but definetley a contributing factor when you get the losing runs.

Performance anxiety has being a thing for us, you can understand us not being good enough to topple Saints but to lose games at home to Wakefield comfortably shows they are more afraid of doing something wrong then trying to do something right.

I imagine it will be a quite off season in regards of noises coming out the club, I mean the HDM are just flogging a deadhorse at the minute and just renaming the headline. Seems like Smith is trying to remove as preassure as he can from the playing group.

Great post above.

We’ve finally got a coach with a method and a process who can hopefully get the best out of what he has got, and we’re not relying on new players to miraculously change our fortunes.

That said, next year will be very interesting with so many OOC. Just another opportunity for TS to mould things his way.

I still think we will bring in one maybe two new players.
As stated previously numerous times, we desperately need a second rower.

If we bring in a SR and keep Connor I'll be happy.

I think we'll bring 1 more in. I'd still take Holmes, even if Shaw still thinks he'llstay at Wire. He was good (apparently) for the culture and Cas and is a solid pro. Sometimes people aren't a good fit for a club, think that's what's happened with Holmes and Wire

Me too. Seems a good character and would bring some much needed experience too.

Probably not in a position to offer anyone a deal unless we can get rid of someone, hopefully the Shaul to Wakey still goes through.
